Overview
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of equipment, including heavy machinery, farm machinery, and automotive vehicles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can troubleshoot issues effectively and provide high-quality service to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including excavators, cranes, and tractors.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics and schematics to determine necessary repairs.
• Perform fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities for all serviced equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines.
• Assist in heavy lifting and tire service as required during maintenance operations.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair, diesel engine repair, and equipment repair.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems, air brakes, transmissions, suspension systems, and alignment procedures.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and understanding OEM specifications.
• Proficient in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes.
• Ability to perform maintenance on industrial equipment and farm machinery.
• Experience with HVAC systems is a plus.
• Capable of performing welding tasks and soldering as needed for repairs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients regarding their equipment needs. Pay: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour

This is a great opportunity for a Welder/Fabricator at our Benzonia location. Position available for an experienced versatile MIG/TIG welder in an Agricultural Equipment Manufacturing facility. Must have schooling or at least 2 years of welding experience. Need to be able to interpret provided blue prints and then build and weld accurate parts. Must be motivated, reliable, and work well with others. Some hand tools required. This is a full-time position.
Essential Functions

• Operate CNC Band Saw & Plasma Table as needed
• High attention to detail
• Utilize hand tools as needed
• Contribute to the fabrication process of parts and components
• Maintain equipment and work area to keep clean and safe
• Follow guidelines to ensure a high level of quality for all parts, components, and products
• MIG/TIG weld parts
• Lots of opportunity to advance your skills in the fields of welding & fabricating

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Accurately measure with tape measure, calipers and protractor to precisely build parts
• Able to stand for the duration of shift
• Able to handle and use tools and machinery safely
• Communicate effectively with co-workers & Teamplayer
• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to read blueprints
• Organized and meticulous
• Ability and willingness to work overtime is a plus
• Reliable and Dependable

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• 2+ years of welding experience
